Change motor trader warranty period from up to 6 months to 30 days

Background

We call on the Government to introduce regulations to ensure motor trader dealer liability for vehicles sold is 30 days, and not up to 6 months. We believe that a 6-month liability period is not realistic for smaller dealerships.

Additional details

We are concerned that the current legislation allows some consumers to misuse their vehicle, and then blame any faults on the dealer, which may then have to be repaired and paid for by dealership.
