Create a fast-track system for benefit claims for cancer patients

Background

We believe the benefits application system for cancer patients is not fit for purpose. We think it is over-complicated, upsetting, and adds high levels of stress. We would like the Government to create a fast-track system for all of those cancer patients who are seeking benefits.

Additional details

We think the system should be simplified, streamlined and cost-effective in a way that would benefit patients, medical professionals and the DWP. We believe that cancer patients should be focusing on getting through their treatment and not worrying about paying bills, mortgages or going back to work too soon as time taken for even an initial decision can be months.
