Create a national, publicly available taxi driver database

Background

We are calling for a national publicly available taxi driver data base. A Gov website where the public can enter a taxi registration and be provided with the following; Driver name, Driver photograph, Driver license confirmation, Confirmation that the taxi is licensed, Area the taxi was licensed

Additional details

We think this could help eliminate the risk of people using unlicensed taxis and confirm the driver is who they say they are, increasing the safety of passengers. We think it could also help eliminate non-registered drivers sharing accounts, which has been a reported issue allowing drivers to work illegally in the UK.
