Create a SEND access fund within the Every Child Can enrichment programme

Background

We call on the Government to create a dedicated SEND access support fund within Every Child Can & related enrichment programmes. This fund should be available to eligible community organisations & children’s activity providers when a child with SEND needs additional adult support to participate.

Additional details

This petition is about funding the 1:1/1:2 additional adult support and reasonable adjustments many SEND children need to access activities they love all year-round (not just in holidays). If a child needs 1:1 support Activity Providers are often faced with a hard choice: They absorb costs, Ask parents to stay, Or turn a child away. We believe that Every Child Can should mean every child actually can.
