Background

Unless entering a country illegally there is no warrant for finger printing and biometric scanning of the population. Fingerprinting & scanning at airports & borders raise significant privacy concerns regarding data storage, potential misuse & the risk of compromised biometric information.

Additional details

While these technologies are presented as security measures, they can be seen as intrusive and potentially infringe upon civil liberties. These systems can also produce false positive matches leading to delays or complications for travellers. The data is vulnerable to hacking or misuse if not properly secured. There are concerns about how this data is stored, who has access to it & for how long it's retained. It raises concerns about mass surveillance & the potential for government overreach.
