Ensure a standalone Esports qualification is integrated into V-levels

Background

I want the government to ensure that a standalone Esports V-level qualification is integrated into the new post-16 education reforms. We believe this will help ensure students with an interest in the subject have clear routes into employment or higher education relating to the industry.

Additional details

Esports is one of the world’s fastest growing industries. We think its existing BTEC qualifications have already seen proven educational benefits, such as increases in attendance and overall engagement in education. We think a dedicated V-level qualification would help ensure students can access the industry’s career pathways and keep the UK competitive in a rapidly expanding sector. Moreover, some colleges have already made significant investments in facilities, including PCs and esports labs.
