Fund Improved Access to NHS Orthodontics for Children with Airway Problems

Background

We want the Government to fund improved access to NHS orthodontic assessments for children with airway or breathing problems, including sleep apnoea, who also have narrow jaws or a narrow palate. Where early treatment is clinically needed, it should be available through the NHS.

Additional details

Children with significant breathing and sleep problems may need early dental assessment. Children with airway problems and narrow jaws or palates should have access to early NHS orthodontic assessment and treatment where clinically needed. We therefore call for improved access to NHS Orthodontics for Children with Airway Problems so that treatment can be provided earlier.
