Help Keep Southend Hydrated: Install Water Fountains at the Seafront and Parks
Background
We call on Southend-on-Sea City Council to install public drinking water fountains along Southend Seafront, in Chalkwell Park, and other busy public spaces to provide free access to drinking water, help prevent dehydration during hot weather, and support healthier, more sustainable communities.
Additional details
Southend Seafront, Chalkwell Park and other public spaces are used by runners, walkers, families, children and visitors throughout the year. During hot weather, access to free drinking water helps prevent dehydration and supports public health. Installing drinking water fountains and refill stations would encourage outdoor activity, reduce plastic waste, and make these areas safer, healthier and more accessible for everyone.
