Introduce regulations for Hairdressers and Barbers

We call on the Government to introduce general licensing requirements for hairdressers and barbers to open salons and statutory requirements for hairdressers and barbers to hold specific qualifications.

Additional details

The UK hairdressing industry is currently unregulated. We are concerned by the current lack of rules or regulations on opening a salon and the lack of qualifications held by some barbers and hairdressers, which may result in potential harm to customers.
