Make individuals convicted of manslaughter eligible under early release scheme

We are calling on the Government to ensure those convicted of manslaughter are included in the Government’s early release scheme. We believe eligible prisoners serving SDS/SDS+ sentences for manslaughter should receive the same release provisions as other eligible offences.

We want the Government to ensure those convicted of manslaughter are included in the Government’s early release scheme and are removed from the list of excluded offences. Eligible prisoners serving SDS/SDS+ sentences for manslaughter should receive the same release provisions as other eligible prisoners. We ask the Government to ensure their eligibility and the fair and consistent application of rules, including to prisoners already serving eligible sentences.
