At the moment it is not mandatory for prospective council candidates or Parliamentary candidates to have an Enhanced DBS check.

Additional details

We believe that as prospective Council candidates and Parliamentary candidates are public servants, a mandatory Enhanced DBS check should be carried out and made public so that the people can see the potential candidates' backgrounds.
