Require employers give employees 3 months sick pay when cancer is diagnosed

Background

I want the government to have a policy in place to help all cancer patients financially. I feel that for the first couple of months, cancer patients need to focus on their diagnosis. Having 3 months of full sick pay in place could allow them to focus on what they are dealing with.

Additional details

It could also remove the added stress of money worries and allow patients to receive treatment and recover without losing income. This peace of mind when diagnosed will be a huge relief for most and will allow them to focus on their diagnosis, treatment and getting themselves fit instead of added financial stress.
