Require retailers to name the courier service they use

Background

Mandate retailers to name the courier service before selling to a consumer so that an informed choice can be made by the consumer. The courier service stated should also be the one making the delivery and it should not be allowed for it to be sub-contracted to another courier service.

Additional details

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 does not legally require online retailers to stipulate which courier service is used. In order for the consumer to make an informed choice, this should be part of their sales process. There have been multiple reports of items getting lost, damaged, delivered to the wrong address or not delivered at all. We believe couriers are not held accountable, so we need a choice at the point of purchase.
