Review communication of diagnostic results in cases of suspected cancer

Background

Review the communication of diagnostic test results that indicate suspected cancer, and ensure NHS providers are making urgent suspected cancer referrals where national referral criteria are met.

Additional details

This petition is inspired by my own experience after being diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer. I believe patients should be informed promptly when tests suggest cancer and receive urgent referrals where national guidance indicates this is appropriate. We call for NHS providers to urgently review the communication of suspected cancer results to help reduce avoidable delays and improve patient safety.
