Review safeguards for those with mental health issues during police encounters

Background

We ask the Government to urgently review legal safeguards for those with mental health issues during police encounters, particularly during and after restraint. We want reform including mandatory safe handovers to hospitals and timely mental health interventions. This could be called Xavier’s Law.
