Stronger rules to ensure foreign businesses pay the right VAT

Background

We want the Government to take action to help stop VAT non-compliance and to ensure duty is paid on every online order shipped from overseas regardless of value. We want greater transparency and think that businesses should have a UK resident as a main director to take responsibility for unpaid VAT.

We want HMRC to conduct more detailed assessment of accounts regardless of supposed turnover with access to transaction reports
