To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what recent assessment he has made of the effectiveness of animal welfare penalty notices.

Daniel ZeichnerThe first annual report from enforcement authorities on penalty notices issued is to be submitted to Defra by June 2025 and a consolidated report will subsequently be published.
