To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, what estimate his Department has made on the proportion of Britain's carbon emissions that derive from (a) domestic and (b) public buildings.

Graham StuartIn 2020, greenhouse gas emissions from domestic and public buildings made up around 17% and 2% respectively of total net territorial greenhouse gas emissions in Great Britain.
These estimates include emissions directly from the combustion of fuels within buildings, but not emissions from the supply of the fuels and electricity used in buildings
