To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, whether her Department has undertaken an impact assessment on the effect of removing the Council Tax discount for single people.

Jim McMahonThe Government currently has no plans to change the single person discount. Decisions on future local authority funding will be a matter for the next Spending Review and Local Government Finance Settlement in which we are fully engaged.
