To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what her policy is on the protection of residential gardens from development.

Matthew PennycookThe Government expects local planning authorities to consider the case for setting out policies to resist inappropriate development of residential gardens, for example where development would cause harm to the local area.
