To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, if he will encourage Councils to offer payroll deduction to employees wishing to save money with a credit union.

Alison McGovernLocal authorities are independent employers responsible for the management of their own workforces including setting their own terms and conditions and employment packages in compliance with all relevant employment legislation.
