To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how many troops have been assigned to support public services in need of extra assistance in the past 12 months.

Answer

Since 1 May 2022, there has been approximately 6,800 instances of Service personnel being assigned to support Military Aid to the Civil Authorities (MACA) taskings. An individual Service person may have been used in support of multiple MACA requests from different Government Departments. This is the total of all current on-going and completed MACA taskings.
