To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if she will bring forward legislative proposals to set conditions for and regulate the use and deployment of live facial recognition technology by police forces in England and Wales.

Dame Diana JohnsonLive facial technology is already being used effectively by some police forces to identify suspects more quickly and accurately.Its use is governed by data protection, equality, and human rights legislation supplemented by specific policing guidance.
