To ask the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, what estimate her Department has made of the total projected cost of implementing a national digital identity system.
Answer
Ian MurrayThe Government will launch a public consultation on the new digital ID by the end of the year. The eventual total cost will depend on the design, build and delivery of the system, matters which will be included in the consultation.
