To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he will make an assessment of the potential merits of introducing a duty on local authorities to facilitate the installation of defibrillators on buildings that they own.

Answer

The Department does not have any plans to introduce a duty on local authorities to facilitate the installation of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) on buildings that they own. The Government is committed to improving access to AEDs in public spaces...
