To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, what assessment he has made of the potential impact of increased social housing investment on reducing reliance on private landlords.

Matthew PennycookOver time, increased investment in social housing will reduce reliance on the private rented sector. At the Spending Review the Chancellor announced £39 billion for a successor to the Affordable Homes Programme over 10 years from 2026-27 to 2035-36.
