To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, with reference to page 89 of the Strategic Defence Review 2025, published on 8 July 2025, what progress he has made on reviewing the Submarine Telegraph Act 1885.

Luke PollardThe legislation is currently being reviewed by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology in relation to the protection and security of subsea cables. The Ministry of Defence is a key partner in this process.
