To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what estimate his Department has made of the cost to the public purse of extending the Reaper drone programme until Protector enters service.

James CartlidgeThe cost of extending the Reaper system until Protector enters service is £48.6 million. This is not an additional cost as it has been offset through utilising support funding previously allocated to the Protector programme for the same period.
