To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, whether she has made a recent assessment of the potential merits of Government funding for Local Welfare Assistance.

Jim McMahonLocal welfare assistance funding is delivered through the Local Government Finance Settlement. The majority of funding in the local government finance settlement is unringfenced recognising that local leaders are best placed to identify local priorities.
