Let me be clear: if I did not think we could make this transition in aviation, I would not be taking this view. Although I share and support the healthy scepticism of many of my colleagues, I tend to approach issues like this with a “Yes, if”—yiffy—attitude. Yes, if we can deliver the SAF required to meet the SAF mandate targets and the resulting emission reductions, we must go ahead with it. From everything I have learned from my own experience, everything I have heard and seen from the industry, and my faith in great British innovation, I know we are capable of delivering that SAF. Measures like those in this Bill provide a good starting point for this revolution.
