Data (Use and Access) Bill [HL]

Contribution

Some 20 years ago, when I sat on the Ofcom content board, I suggested that the internet should be regulated. I was condescendingly told that it could never happen. Today, Ofcom is beginning to regulate the internet, but so much irreversible damage has been done during that time. I see us being in a similar position now, with AI running rampant without control and government resisting calls to legislate to protect the creative industries from it. Do the Government really want to have this on their conscience?
