Sudan: Ceasefire Talks

Contribution

My Lords, earlier this month the chair of the African Union Commission stated that the AU “will not accept any interference in the internal affairs of Sudan”. The Minister referred to discussions that are going ahead. What discussions have the Government had with the African Union on the fact that some Arab states have blocked the agreement of a contact group? Have they discussed with the AU how they now plan to prevent any further interference by those states? Without a contact group and discussions about ceasefire, the two warring parties in Sudan continue to slaughter tens of thousands of civilians.
