She may also remind noble Lords that employers will not be able to discriminate against customers expressing those beliefs protected by the Equality Act. But how Clause 20 should be interpreted so as to be compatible with Articles 8, 9 and 10 of the convention, as well as how it should be interpreted when the third-party opinions that employees complain of are beliefs that enjoy protected status under the Equality Act, are uncharted legal waters, as flagged by the EHRC in its briefing note on Clause 20.
