Tobacco and Vapes BillContribution
After months of uncertainty, with Parliamentary Questions being met with silence or one-line answers and after months of evasion, we still have not had a clear answer. When I asked the Attorney-General for clarity, as I said in Committee, I was told to ask the Minister instead, so the noble Baroness, Lady Merron, was not just defending the Bill but doubling as the Government’s Attorney-General. I am still asking why the Government believe they are right and seven EU states are wrong. Why did Denmark and Ireland have to abandon almost identical proposals because of EU law, but our Government insist that they can press ahead regardless?
