The last amendment that stands in my name is new clause 13, which concerns rural investment. The £445 million mainly concerns new stations in the east of Wales; rural communities, particularly in the west, have been overlooked for generations. In my constituency of Caerfyrddin, the case for reopening St Clears station is well established, as is the need to improve links towards Pembrokeshire, which I have been pressing for alongside my hon. Friend the Member for Ceredigion Preseli (Ben Lake) and the hon. Member for Mid and South Pembrokeshire (Henry Tufnell). New clause 13 would require a clear plan to ensure projects such as these merit consideration and that rural Wales and, in particular, rural west Wales finally receive their fair share of funding.
