Public Office (Accountability) BillContribution
This probing amendment simply seeks to clarify the purpose and impact of that obviously deliberate distinction. What are the Government’s reasons for including the broader test of relevance in the case of acts but the narrower test of relevance in the case of information? Is it to prevent an inquiry or investigation being overloaded with irrelevant notifications in respect of information? If that is the case, what assessment have the Government made of the risk that an inquiry would be overloaded with irrelevant notifications in respect of acts, where the broader wording is used?
