Public Office (Accountability) BillContribution
Amendments 66 and 69A in the name of the noble Baroness, Lady Coffey, and Amendment 66A in the name of the noble Baroness, Lady Jones of Moulsecoomb, seek to extend the application of the duty of candour and assistance and the offence of misleading the public to your Lordships in this place and Members of the other place. It is a long-standing constitutional convention that Parliament regulates its own affairs. Parliament has its own arrangements for ensuring accuracy and truthfulness in proceedings, including processes for determining whether Members have misled the House.
