There are several problems with a policy that relies on goods being electronically tracked, the first of which is evident: not all stolen goods are electronic and therefore have tracking data. Even if the goods in question are electronic, it does not necessarily follow that they will be trackable. In requiring this condition, the Government are narrowing the scope of investigable stolen goods a considerable degree.
