Extend FOIA to any private company providing services under government contract

Background

I would like the government to extend the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 2000 to any private companies, including utility companies, providing a service under government contract.

Additional details

I believe the public have a right to information where ultimately, they may pay the costs for projects from government contracted private companies, such as for utility services.
